If you were a patient at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s post-anesthesia Care Unit from 2023 through January 2025, you may have been exposed to dirty syringes used to give you IV medications.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is currently contacting “at risk” patients. One of CRMC’s nurses was re-suing syringes when administrating IV drugs to patients.
The problem is that CRMC doesn’t know which specific patients were exposed to these dirty syringes. They recommend that patients who may have been exposed by their former nurse get “tested for blood-borne pathogens.”
If you or someone you know may have been exposed to these dirty syringes in the post-anesthesia Care Unit at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center between 2023 and 2025, reach out to us to see if we can help you.
